BALADARSHAN

BALADARSHAN is a network of South Indian social organizations involving particularly disadvantaged women in crafts production.

BALADARSHAN has been founded by social workers who were concerned in improving the livelihood of isolated women and their children in Chennai slum areas.BALADARSHAN aims to support the programs held by SPEED Trust, especially its vocational training program.

SPEED Trust (Slum People Education and Economic Development) is a Charitable Public Trust which acts in the slum areas of Chennai, the fourth largest city of India and capital city of Tamil Nadu .

Officially created in 2003, SPEED Trust is prolonging an action undertaken by the former SPEED Association in 2000. The organization’s programs , which lay a particular stress on education, responsibility and self-confidence, are directed towards improvement of the slum-dwellers’ situation.

Contributions to Baladarshan must be done through The One Eyed Turtle LLC. For every $300 collected The One Eyed Turtle LLC will pay the $30 wire transfer fee.

Afghan Women's Mission

The Afghan Women's Mission is a US-based organization working in collaboration with RAWA (The Revolutionary Association of the Women of Afghanistan which was founded in 1977 and has been struggling against fundamentalism ever since.

Educating the public both locally and internationally is an important part of RAWA's work in trying to get help for the country and the women of Afghanistan.

The AWM aims to empower Afghan women by improving the education and health facilities of Afghan refugee, many of whom are women and children.
